Wednesday, 28 August 2024 – Today, a Memorandum of Understanding between Visual, Audio, Creative Content Professionals Association (Singapore) and IPOS Singapore was signed at IP Week.

This MoU underlines the commitment by both VICPA and IPOS Singapore to empower freelance creative professionals, especially among younger creators to safeguard and uphold their IP rights. This is especially crucial in today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape and in our interconnected world.

VICPA and IPOS will be dedicating effort and resources to empower freelance creatives in four areas:

· IP Education and Awareness – to continue educating and raising awareness on IP rights and protection

· Capacity Building – talks and workshops that provide skills and knowledge necessary for creatives to thrive

· Resource Sharing – resources to support and uplift the creative community

· Youth Engagement – focus on empowering younger creators with the tools and knowledge to navigate and protect their IP effectively

Beyond IP protection, VICPA will focus on improving work safety and wage protection, as well as curating upskilling for freelance creatives to keep pace with new technology and new demands.
